The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences offers several continuing education opportunities, including courses, webinars and workshops.
In addition, we host weekly Grand Rounds for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Education (CE) credit. Grand Rounds are held on the first, second and fourth Thursdays from September to June from noon-1pm. We strive to attain a balance of Grand Rounds lecture topics between basic science, translational science, clinical practice and implementation of health services.
The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences CME and CE is supported through the Duke University Health System's (DUHS) Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development. In order to provide continuing education for the healthcare team, the DUHS Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Psychologists may also earn continuing education credits through the American Psychological Association via co-sponsorship by the North Carolina Psychological Association.
