Undergraduate Medical Education

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences works closely with the School of Medicine to ensure that our students have access to high-value clinical experiences that will allow them to create a firm foundation in the behavioral neurosciences. We emphasize a patient-centered approach that incorporates the biopsychosocial assessment.

Undergraduate medical education learners will benefit from an academic environment that prioritizes the integration of mental health into the holistic care of our patients, regardless of the students' intended medical specialty.

Effective communication skills, critical thinking, evidence based medicine and collaborative care between disciplines are central to our mission in preparing learners to be psychologically-minded clinicians.
