Equity, diversity and inclusion with regard to race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexual orientation, religion and socioeconomic status are core values of the Duke Child and Adolescent Fellowship program. We’re proud that our fellowship graduates have attended international medical schools and hail from diverse backgrounds. We celebrate the lived experiences of our fellows, and our learning community is enriched by our similarities and differences.
We’re also committed to serving the children and families of Durham, NC, and surrounding areas who represent the full spectrum of diversity. We are committed to training the next generation of child and adolescent psychiatrists as leaders in compassionate care for all patients. Our fellows strive to deliver equitable care and serve as advocates for our patients, many of whom are from marginalized backgrounds.
We include seminars on structural competency, bias and health disparities into our seminars and case discussions, and we provide fellows opportunities to advocate for the community we serve. Our fellows and faculty are also engaged in anti-racism efforts at Duke University.
