Clinical Awards & Honors

  • Nicole Helmke, MD, was elected as a fellow of the American College of Physicians. 
  • Warren Kinghorn, MD, ThD, was named Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Allison Taylor, PA-C, received the inaugural Dean’s Excellence Staff Award from the School of Medicine.

Research Awards & Honors

  • Briana Brownlow, PhD, received 2023 Outstanding Student Diversity Research Award from the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology.
  • Avshalom Caspi, PhD; Harold Koenig, MD; and Terrie Moffitt, PhD, were recognized as top scholars by research.com. Moffitt was ranked first in psychology in the U.S., Caspi was ranked third in psychology in the U.S., and Koenig was ranked seventh in the U.S. and tenth in the world for social sciences and humanities.
  • Geraldine Dawson, PhD, received the 2023 Women in Business Lifetime Achievement Award from the Triangle Business Journal.
  • Kaf Dzirasa, MD, PhD, was elected member of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
  • Kelly Hyland, PhD, received the Student Researcher Award from the International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • Ed Levin, PhD, received the 2023 Toxicological Sciences Paper of the Year Award from Society of Toxicology Board of Publications.
  • Terrie Moffitt, PhD, received the title Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of her outstanding scientific achievement and service to the United Kingdom.
