Dr. Kollins is the co-director of the Duke Center for Girls & Women with ADHD. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher who has devoted a large portion of his career to researching ADHD. As a parent of a child with special needs, he aims to use his skills to improve the lives of others.
Currently, Dr. Kollins is an adjunct professor in Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Chief Medical Officer at Aura, a company that is building next generation tools to help promote digital safety and wellness for youth by combining advanced AI technologies and clinical research.
Dr. Kollins has published over 200 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Kollins served as a full time Duke faculty member for over 20 years and was a principal investigator for dozens of federally funded research projects. Dr. Kollins was also a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute, a premiere academic clinical research organization and continues to advise on digital health strategies. He has served as a principal investigator on over 40 clinical trials.
Dr. Kollins received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Duke University and his master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Auburn University. After completing his clinical internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he served as Chief Intern, he served on the faculty of Western Michigan University’s Department of Psychology for three years before joining the Duke faculty in 2000.
