Lisa Amaya-Jackson Receives Humanitarian Award

We’re delighted to announce that Lisa Amaya-Jackson, MD, MPH, has received the 2020 Humanitarian Award from the Duke Medical Alumni Association.

Amaya-Jackson, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, is also the director of the Duke Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Center, among other roles at Duke. She has dedicated her professional career to developing and improving access to evidence-based mental health services for the most vulnerable children and their families.

The Humanitarian Award recognizes lifelong service to society or to humankind and honors those who have provided extraordinary service to their community, demonstrating leadership through global or local service. The award honors alumni and faculty who have fulfilled the obligations of their education through creative citizenship and exemplary service leadership in ways that benefit society and bring credit to the institution.
