Angel Peterchev Elevated to IEEE Fellow

Angel Peterchev, PhD, professor in psychiatry and behavioral sciences, was selected as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow effective January 1, 2026. He was honored for his contributions to device development and modeling for electromagnetic brain stimulation. Less than 0.1% of voting members are elevated to Fellow status annually.

The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

Peterchev directs the Brain Stimulation Engineering Lab, which focuses on the development, modeling, and application of devices and paradigms for transcranial brain stimulation.
