Ali Cohen, PhD

Speaker:

Alexander "Ali" Cohen, PhD
Dr. Ali Cohen received her BS in neuroscience from Duke University and PhD in neuroscience from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Her dissertation work with BJ Casey focused on developmental changes in reactivity to emotional information and led her to become interested in how emotion and motivation shape learning, memory, and influence later behavior across age. As a postdoctoral fellow at New York University working with Cate Hartley and Lila Davachi at Columbia University, her research focuses on understanding neural and cognitive mechanisms underlying how motivationally salient learning experiences influence memory processes from childhood to adulthood using computational modeling, psychophysiological, and neuroimaging approaches. Outside the lab, she dedicates time to engaging in science outreach and advocating for scientifically-informed policy. Link to Join: https://duke.zoom.us/j/93122109488 Passcode: 342663
