The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences has two leadership positions—Director and Associate Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion—to provide vision and leadership to promote an equitable, anti-racist and inclusive culture within the department and in partnership with other entities across the Duke School of Medicine and Duke Health.

School of Medicine Moments to Movements Committees

Several members of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences are members of the School of Medicine's Moments to Movements committees focused on making sustainable, fundamental changes to mitigate systematic racism and its effects within the Duke University School of Medicine.

Faculty Anti-Racism Committee

Working to uncover the School of Medicine's priorities and best opportunities related to enhancing racial diversity and equity amongst our faculty and enhancing the career development and satisfaction of the School's underrepresented in medicine faculty.

Health Professions Students Anti-Racism Committee

Working to identify the School of Medicine's best priorities relating to enhancing racial diversity, equity, and a sense of belonging amongst all our health professions students and training a healthcare work force that is intentionally anti-racist.

Graduate Students and Postdoc Anti-Racism Committee

Working to enhance racial diversity, equity, and a sense of belonging among its graduate students and postdoctoral candidates across the School of Medicine.
