Welcome to the Duke-NCCU Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Training Program Website!

The partnership between Duke University School of Medicine and North Carolina Central University (NCCU) offers interdisciplinary postdoctoral research training focused on child psychiatry and neurodevelopment.

Over two to three years, the Duke-NCCU Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Training program (DN-IPT) equips MD, PhD, and MD/PhD recipients with specialized skills in developmental neuroscience research, employing advanced methodologies like brain imaging, computational and preclinical modeling, and digital health to improve diagnoses and treatments for children and adolescents.

With a strong emphasis on collaborative research and mentorship, DN-IPT is dedicated to training the next generation of researchers, poised to make significant advancements in understanding and addressing child psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Join us in shaping the future of child mental health research.

Notice Regarding Payback Obligation

Please note that per NIH policy, postdoctoral trainees supported by a T32 training grant incur a service payback obligation for their first 12 months of NRSA support. This obligation can typically be fulfilled by continuing in health-related research or teaching. If a trainee leaves the program before completing the payback requirement, they may be required to fulfill it through eligible employment or, in some cases, repay the funds.

For more information, visit the NIH Payback Service Center.
