In addition to programming through the Duke Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Grand Rounds, we offer several continuing education options for mental health professionals.

These offerings include a week-long electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) fellowship and a three-day intensive training course on transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

  • The ECT fellowship, led by Richard Weiner, MD, PhD, offers practicing clinicians an active ECT learning experience that combines participation in ECT treatments, meetings with faculty, conferences and consultations, and readings and video material.
  • The TMS course, led by Angel Peterchev, PhD, is designed for psychiatrists, psychologists and researchers who want to enhance their knowledge of TMS and related brain stimulation techniques. The course includes didactic sessions and hands-on administration of TMS.

Other continuing education offerings are available periodically.
