Integrated Services for Children and Families

The Division of Child and Family Mental Health and Developmental Neuroscience offers a wide range of evidence-based, comprehensive behavioral and mental health services for children, adolescents, and families. Our highly-skilled team is dedicated to providing innovative, personalized mental health care in a child- and family-centered environment.

Pediatric mental health services at Duke are provided by faculty and clinical staff from across the Division’s clinical and research programs. Evidence-based treatments ensure that our patients receive the most current and effective therapies available.

Appointments

For a non-urgent appointment, or to learn more about our clinical services, please call the Duke Children’s Evaluation Center (DCEC) intake line at (919) 385-3232. The clinical team at the DCEC can connect you with appropriate services at Duke and/or in the community.

Acute and Urgent Mental Health Needs

Patients in need of immediate support should call 911 or go directly to a nearby Emergency Department for care if safe transportation options are available.

Duke Children’s Evaluation Center

Duke’s primary point of access for pediatric mental health services. This clinic focuses on helping youth access timely and appropriate care for emerging and critical mental health needs.

Duke Child and Family Study Center 

Psychiatric and psychological assessments and services for children, adolescents, couples, and families. Includes the Duke Family Studies Program, Psychosocial Treatment Clinic (PTC), Pediatric Psychopharmacology Clinic, and other services.

Child Development and Behavioral Health Clinic 

Psychiatric and psychological assessments and services for infants, children, and young adults (ages 0-24) with psychiatric, developmental, behavioral, and substance use difficulties.

Pediatric Primary Care

Psychiatric and psychological assessments and services at Duke pediatric primary care locations.

Children's Hospital and Health Center  

Psychiatric and psychological assessments and services offered in pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings.

Pediatric Neuropsychology Program

Neuropsychological and psychosocial evaluations for children with chronic illnesses.

Duke University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
