Marissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who acts as the Lead Clinical Assessor in the Cognitive Behavioral Research and Treatment Program, as well as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and treatment coordinator for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Marissa has a specialization in Evidence Based Practices and utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her clinical practice. She works regularly with individuals who are having difficulty with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorders. She is especially interested in working with women, individuals who have difficulty with "perfectionism," and family members/loved one's of individuals who have a mental illness and/or have lost a loved one by suicide. Marissa has a strong commitment to clinical social work training, seeking to ensure that social workers receive evidence-based training that prepares them for their clinical practice post-licensure.
