Research Interests:
I am a Research Psychologist at the Durham VA Medical Center and Assistant Professor at the Duke University Medical Center, where I conduct research with the Traumatic Stress and Health Research Laboratory. I recently received a Career Development Award through the VA that will allow me to receive training on research methods and collect pilot data on an intervention combining evidence-based treatments of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and smoking to improve smoking cessation rates in PTSD. I plan to use this pilot data to design and conduct a clinical trial testing the efficacy of this intervention. I plan to devote my career to research and implementation of behavioral health and PTSD interventions.
