Research Interests:
Psychobiology; psychopharmacology; and Human Mood Disorders. Current projects include gathering data for a study of stress patterns among university presidents; chaired the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Substance Abuse and Mental Health Issues in AIDS Research, which by Congressional mandate assessed behavioral science-based AIDS prevention efforts, the links between AIDS research and service programs, and the balance between biomedical and behavioral research in the AIDS programs of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the National Institute of Mental Health.
